"I bought a fancy camera when I found out I was pregnant so I could take nice photos of my new baby... however I never really learned how to use it. I now know how to use the different settings in my camera to capture all those things that you notice in a baby that seems to change before your eyes. As someone told me about my wedding photos, they are the only tangible thing you have left after the wedding day passes and I think it's the same with photos of children. You can't remember every little detail and it's so nice to look back on photos and remember how little they were." Previous Moms with Cameras Student
"Nina made all those numbers and buttons on the back of my camera very easy to understand, and I feel much more confident that I know what I'm doing now when I press them!" Previous Moms with Cameras Student
As mothers we love having photos to remember back to that time our child had a face covered in spaghetti or in their Easter outfits. Do you have a new camera or a camera gathering dust? Would you like to capture more of the sweet family moments that happen daily?
Moms with Cameras is a 2-3 hour in person class with 4 weeks of post-class online homework and support. It is designed specifically for moms a who want to take better photos of their kids. A DSLR is recommended, but by no means required. You can take better photos with any camera (yes, even your cell phone!). "The best camera is the one you have with you."
We’ll cover some technical basics (exposure, ISO, shutter speed, aperture and camera modes) and then move on to finding the light, capturing the moment, improving composition, and some quick tips to better your shots. One week before the class, and for 4 weeks after, there will be a private Facebook group in which I’ll post homework assignments, give critiques, and answer any questions you might have. Class size is small (5-8 mamas) in order to allow time for individual attention and so I can answer as many of your questions as possible. The class is the most fun when it’s a group of friends or a group of random mamas, paired with wine or mimosas and snacks. Leave the kiddos at home and think of it as a girls’ afternoon! We’ll laugh a lot, you’ll learn a lot, and we’ll all have a great time! And to top it all off, you’ll leave with a better understanding of how to capture your kids just how they are right now. You can’t go wrong!
